The scope of the work entails the supply of all labour, plant, materials and equipment for the construction / installation of;  Construction of gravity bulk sewer,  Construction of sewage pump stations including provision of electrical power. Construction of pumping sewer mains Access road construction / upgrade where necessary to allow for the construction • Compliance and monitoring in accordance to the Environmental Management Programme.  Associated ancillary works.

The Sewer system has been design to cater for the current and ongoing containerized sanitation programme and the future needs of the community of Malukazi, located on the outskirts of eThekwini, on as and when the area is brought on to waterborne sewage.

This project entails the construction of 900mm concrcete diameter pipeline with eight bridge crossings, spanning over 5.0 km. The reticulated sewage system to service the Luganda/Intake, Katshi, Demat and Progress Place communities located in the Outer West area of the Ethekwini Municipality. These areas are currently not serviced by water borne sewage. The informal pit latrines and septic tank systems are currently inadequate to cater for these areas sanitation needs.

These townships are developing rapidly in to dense residential communities (both formal and informal) and this bulk pipeline will provide much needed relief and bring diginity to the communities in the outer west region of eThekwini.
